This side drop lunge + balance the second move in our SAMM Series (Super Amazing moveBALL™ Moves), once again helping you build your exercise library. We love this move for its functional comprehensiveness - multi planar, every muscle you own, plus an extra balance challenge. And because you perform an entire interval isolating one side of the body, it's a tremendous bang for your buck! (Be sure to do the same amount of work on the other side.)
Begin standing with your feet together, holding the moveBALL™ at chest height, one hand in each handle. Take a large step to the right into a lunge. The left hand touches the moveBALL™ to the floor. Come up, moveBALL™ overhead with both hands, into a balance on the left foot. This is one repetition. Perform 15-20 repetitions with the right foot lead, then repeat on the left.
For more intensity, lunge deeper and move at a continuous pace. For less intensity, place your free hand on the front thigh for assistance. More more slowly, resting as needed.
